Hi , I have been preserving flowers for about 13 yrs , 1st was pressed then silica and oolitic sand. I now have a freeze dryer also and I am having a hard time getting organized knowing where each clients flowers are. I do many bouquets with several different methods. Does anyone have a form that they use that makes keeping track of the flowers for each client easier? or have any suggestions that I may find helpful? I would really appreciate any feedback. Thanks ,Lauri in NH 603-882-6977 or lauri@floralkeepsakesbylauri.com

Every client signs a purchase order/contract that has a unique, sequential number. When processing the flowers, via any method, I just put in a small slip of paper with the invoice number & clients last name. I always use both because sometimes you deal with 2 different clients with the same last name & the ink can always get smudged. We place incomplete orders on a seperate section of shelving so that we always know where to look for the flowers to complete an order. I store the flowers in rose trays with shredded tissue and tape the slip of paper to the inside (in case it falls it doesn't drift away- as it might if on the outside)so it is quick & easy to find. It has worked great for me since we started in '99. Hope it helps :)

Hi, We use color coded pipe cleaners. They are inexpensive, can be reused and we can cut them up. We can color code each flower or just put one on a tray. We then put just a little piece of it on the clients card so that we know what belongs to who when we take them out.

We use a four part custom form we have printed by NEBS. The form has all of the information we need to complete the order, including a sequential number for order control. The four pages are used as follows;
Page four: Given to the client when the deposit is paid.
Page Three: Given to the client when the design consultation is complete and the bill is paid in full.
Page Two: Goes in our cash register when the deposit is paid.
Page one: Stays with the original contract and bouquet photos in our log book.
All client flowers are placed in plastic bouquet boxes, sealed and marked with the control number following the recieving pretreatment. The flowers are processed in these boxes and they are not removed until we are ready to do the final post treatment and design. All in process client flowers are stored in a common location and segregated from other flowers we are processing.
