I have been trying some experiments and have had some luck with a few things and just wanted to share. One experiment was using Spectra Set II for Reds, I sprayed stargazers with the spectra set II, They did not turn purple!!! They were still pink!!! The next discovery was at Lowes, I noticed they had plasti-dip in red. The color looked fairly bright, so I bought one to try. Some of the red roses that have come out really dark look great!! Just wanted to share, hope it works for you too! Jo "A Time to Remember Floral"

Hi Jo, Re: plasti-dip application, wondering if the application caused flowers to look semi-gloss/glossy appearance. Please advise and thank you for sharing.

Sorry I have not checked the message board for a while. The spectra set if available from Rich DeLong @ Fleur-Chem (www.fleur-chem.com) or 623-977-8900. He has all the chemicals for pre-treatments. We use them for freeze drying.
Nikki, we use plasti dip on all our flowers for post treatment. Some do look more glossy than others. But I have been very happy with appearance. I dont like that really glossy look either. Jo
