I am still having problems with my Gerbera daisiy's. One time they look great, the next time they are transparent and really thin. This is what I have been doing.
Post treat with QDP 1-1/4 let dry
Fill plastic container with Selica Beads about 1"
Put Gerbs on top of beads, push down into beads slightly
Cover with cotton batting
Process in back of machine for 21 days.

It is also a problem when they are processed how the selica beads stick to the back of the flower. What do you guys do different and how do I fix the beads from sticking. Even if the pre-treat is dry it is still sticky.

Hi From Lasting Keepsakes!! There are two ways we do gerbers-in the dryer we use the same chem but we line our container with cotton/polymer filler and then set our daisies in(some we set on the side and let the petals form to give a more natural look)and then put cotton on top and set for 20 days. The other way is in hydrated silica gel(or beads)There is no pre-treating with this. Just cut and bury into silica beads. You must have an air tight container and keep at about 90 degrees F for about 7 days. Both ways yeild beautiful flowers.

You might want to try spraying the QDP instead of dipping the flower. It tends to dry better and not leave the white crust that is so hard to get off.
