Frames - what do the sizes refer to? Frame sizes listed refer to the size of art that the frame will hold.  In framing jargon, this is referred to as the rabit dimension - the vertical and horizontal dimension across the back of the frame from the outer rabit edge to the opposite outer rabit edge.

What is a rabit? The rabit is the notch cut into the back of a molding to hold the artwork, matboard, acrylic dome, glass and/or backing material.

What is the site dimension of a frame or shadowbox? The site dimension refers to the actual viewable area from the front of a frame or shadowbox.  Since most frame rabits are approximately 3/8", the site dimension will typically be 3/4" less than the rabit dimension.

Shadowboxes - What do the sizes refer to? Shadowbox sizes refer to the actual display area within the box.

2 dimensional framing - whats the right size?

Always determine the desired look first - will you be including a matboard border as a complementary transition from molding to artwork?  Does a larger frame offer a dramatic effect to the piece?  The width of the frame molding itself can also be a factor since smaller items framed with a wider molding may require a larger frame.  The opposite can be true in some instances.  Whatever your choice, remember that the site dimemsion is smaller, potentially cropping the framed item if not taken into account.

What if my order gets damaged in shipping?

Please call for a RAN (Return Authorization Number).  If your product gets damaged in shipping, please call us immediately.  We will make arrangements to have the damaged product picked up and send you a replacement .  It is very important that all original packaging materials be saved.

What types of payment do you accept? We accept Checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card.  Sorry, no COD's.  If you are sending a check your order will not be processed until we have received payment.  If you are paying by credit card, you will be billed the same day that your order ships.

How long will my order take to ship? Your order will ship in 3 - 5 business days.  Some custom orders or large quantities may take longer.  We ship most of our products by FedEx Ground.  Actual transit time varies based on where you are located

What will it cost to ship my order?

Several factors determine the actual shipping cost:

    • The weight and size of the box required to ship your order.
    • The distance the order must travel.
    • The level of shipping service desired - regular ground or expedited delivery.

We add to the actual cost charged by the carrier a nominal fee for materials and handling.  Please call us for a shipping quote for the item desired.
